Frequently asked questions
Is a PADI certification accepted at SSI centres, and vice versa?
Generally yes. Major recreational certifications are widely recognised, so you can usually continue training or dive with a different agency's centre. The centre may ask to see your card and logbook.
Which agency is best?
There is no single best agency. Standards at each level are broadly comparable; the instructor, class size and training conditions usually make a bigger difference.
What do I need to start technical diving?
Technical agencies such as TDI and RAID usually require an advanced certification, nitrox and a minimum number of logged dives. Check prerequisites with the instructor.
